EcoWaste urges candidates to remove campaign materials after elections

EcoWaste Coalition urged candidates to remove their campaign materials after the Eleksyon 2025 elections on Tuesday.

Crisanto Luague from EcoWaste Coalition emphasized that cleaning up is a responsibility of those who benefited from the campaigns and should not be left to volunteers or local government units.

On Wednesday, volunteers from the coalition conducted cleanup operations around Flora Ylagan High School in Quezon City, urging candidates to comply with election-related waste regulations.

Luague highlighted the recurring issue of littered campaign materials after elections and stressed that candidates must demonstrate true leadership by taking responsibility for post-election cleanups.

The EcoWaste Coalition called on the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and Comelec to coordinate with local government units to enforce proper implementation of post-election cleanup rules.
