Economists predict PH GDP grew by at least 5 percent in 2021

Philippine economists predict that the country's GDP grew by at least 5 percent in 2021, indicating a recovery from the worst post-war recession in 2020.

Of the forecasts collected, most economists project growth above 5%, with some predicting as high as 5.7%. The government will release official figures on January 27.

The BusinessWorld poll of 18 economists suggests fourth-quarter GDP growth slowed to a median estimate of 6.5%, compared to 7.1% in the third quarter, but still marks an improvement from the previous year's decline.
