Eastern Visayas officials defend Marcos Jr., Romualdez against Duterte’s attacks

Local officials from Eastern Visayas have defended President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and House Speaker Ferdinand Romualdez against verbal attacks and threats from Vice President Sara Duterte.

Over 45 key officials from Eastern Visayas signed a Joint Manifesto of Indignation criticizing Duterte's recent tirades, calling them 'reckless, divisive, and baseless'.

The manifesto, released on Tuesday, also condemned Duterte’s behavior as an insult to both the Waray people and their leaders.

Officials emphasized that Duterte's actions destabilize the unity of the administration and erode public trust, especially after her press briefing filled with profanities directed at key officials last Friday.

Eastern Visayas leaders reaffirmed their support for Marcos Jr. and Romualdez as symbols of hope and pride for the region and the nation, highlighting Speaker Romualdez's long history of public service and dedication to uplifting vulnerable sectors.
