Eala takes break before US Open, ranks No. 56

Alexandra 'Alex' Eala is taking a break before competing in the US Open, which runs from August 24 to September 7.

Eala recently concluded her grass court season with a historic finals appearance at the Lexus Eastbourne Open and Wimbledon, where she narrowly lost to Australia's Maya Joint.

The Filipino tennis player will first participate in the WTA-1000 level National Bank Open in Canada from July 26 to August 7.

Eala is currently ranked No. 56 in the world and aims to break into the Top 50 before the US Open, where she previously won as a junior Grand Slam champion in 2022.

Her recent performances at Wimbledon and the French Open have helped her achieve new career-high rankings, though she was eliminated early in both tournaments.
