DOT recommends Duterte visit top PH destinations

The Department of Tourism (DOT) recommends President Rodrigo Duterte visits popular destinations such as Boracay, Cebu, and Bohol to boost domestic tourism amid the coronavirus outbreak.

Tourism Undersecretary Arturo Boncato Jr. stated that Duterte's visit aims to cushion potential revenue losses in the tourism industry.

Duterte is expected to make these visits 'in the next couple of weeks' contingent on his schedule.

Palace spokesperson Salvador Panelo believes Duterte’s presence can attract visitors, though he may not participate in activities during the tour.
