Duterte warns hospitals: Accept all patients or face charges

President Rodrigo Duterte warned hospitals on Monday to accept all patients, including those suspected of having COVID-19, or face legal consequences.

Duterte cited an incident where a patient in Cabanatuan died after being rejected by six hospitals.

He ordered government hospitals to provide makeshift rooms for sick patients and threatened to suspend officials who refuse admission.

The President said he would ask the Department of Justice to prosecute hospital officials who reject patients.
