Duterte orders state media to highlight PH's better virus response

President Duterte has ordered government news agencies to highlight that the Philippines is performing better than other countries in its coronavirus response.

The Presidential Communications Operations Office confirmed a memo directing state-run media to include global COVID-19 statistics, emphasizing the country's favorable performance compared to others.

PCOO officials defended the directive, stating it aims to provide adequate information and positive updates on government pandemic policies.

The memo, signed by PCOO Undersecretary George Apacible, instructs all government media platforms to incorporate world data on COVID-19 in their reports.
