Duterte orders free COVID-19 tests in govt health facilities

President Duterte ordered the DOH to study providing free COVID-19 testing in government health facilities starting the second quarter of 2021.

Health Secretary Duque said Wednesday that the DOH is still searching for a budget to fund this initiative and will submit their findings to the President.

Over 5.6 million Filipinos have been tested for COVID-19, with 170 testing laboratories available in the country.

Malacañang stated Tuesday that the Philippines has prioritized screening people for COVID-19 as a means to limit its spread.
