Duterte calls for universal COVID-19 vaccine access

President Rodrigo Duterte renewed his call for universal access to COVID-19 vaccines during his address at the United Nations General Assembly on December 3.

Duterte emphasized that excluding poor countries from vaccine distribution would be a 'gross injustice' and discredit the values of the UN.

He stressed that no one is safe until everyone has access to vaccines, and reaffirmed the Philippines' commitment to contributing to global resources for vaccine distribution.

The President also highlighted the need for universal access to anti-COVID-19 technologies and products during a virtual meeting on December 3.
