DBM releases P100B for social amelioration program

The DBM has released P100 billion for the social amelioration program under the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act, aimed at aiding households affected by COVID-19 restrictions.

This amount will cover cash distribution for approximately 18 million low-income families identified as most vulnerable to economic shocks caused by the pandemic.

Budget Secretary Wendel Avisado stated that the released funds are expected to support the first month's requirements of the program, with more details on the application process and distribution provided by local government units.
