DA approves P1B loan for agri-fishery SMEs

The Department of Agriculture (DA) has approved an initial P1-billion loan assistance program to support marginal farmers, fisherfolk, and agri-fishery micro and small enterprises (MSEs) affected by the enhanced community quarantine.

The loans will provide working capital at zero interest for up to five years, with eligible MSEs able to borrow up to P10 million.

This initiative aims to increase farm productivity and ensure food sufficiency during the COVID-19 pandemic, supporting DA’s broader 'Plant, Plant, Plant' program.
