Duterte urges LGUs to distribute COVID-19 vaccines immediately

President Rodrigo Duterte urged local government units (LGUs) on Thursday night to distribute COVID-19 vaccines immediately upon arrival to avoid wastage due to expiration.

Duterte assured LGU officials that the national government is distributing vaccines as quickly as possible, noting the limited shelf life and temperature requirements of the vaccines.

Vaccines czar Secretary Carlito Galvez reported an increase in vaccine demand from LGUs and confirmed that millions of doses have arrived or are expected to arrive soon.
