Palace: Cash aid distribution in NCR set for Aug 11

President Duterte instructed the DSWD and DILG to take over cash aid distribution in Metro Manila on August 11, following an unnamed LGU's alleged lack of organization.

Malacañang clarified that the distribution will proceed with police and military support.

ULAP chair Presbitero Velasco said it is within the president’s prerogative to strip an LGU of its role in distributing aid if needed.

DILG spokesperson Jonathan Malaya stated that no specific instructions have been received from Malacañang regarding which LGU will be stripped of its duties.
