Duterte supporters rally across PH for 80th birthday

Supporters of former President Rodrigo Duterte rallied across the country on March 28 to celebrate his 80th birthday and call for his release from detention.

The event featured performances by rappers and speeches by family members and allies who criticized the current administration led by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., with an estimated crowd of around 60,000 people gathering in Davao City alone.

According to Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesperson Brigadier General Jean Fajardo, about 200 rallies were held nationwide, all of which concluded peacefully without any untoward incidents.

Vice President Sara Duterte thanked her father's supporters for holding gatherings both within and outside the Philippines to celebrate his birthday while he remains detained in The Hague, Netherlands.
