Duterte orders police in quarantine hotels

President Rodrigo Duterte has ordered the deployment of at least two police personnel in every hotel used as a quarantine facility.

Duterte stated that hotel owners lack the authority to enforce health protocols and arrest rule violators.

The President emphasized that only government-designated personnel have the power to legally stop individuals from violating quarantine rules.

Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra noted that Republic Act No. 11332 can penalize hotel management for not reporting violations, but enforcement remains with designated government officials.
