Duterte OKs special risk allowance for COVID-19 frontliners

President Rodrigo Duterte signed an administrative order on Monday granting a one-time special risk allowance (SRA) for public health workers battling the coronavirus pandemic.

The SRA is equivalent to up to 25% of monthly basic salary and applies to PHWs with significant exposure to health risks and physical hardships.

Guidelines issued by Duterte authorize national government agencies, GOCCs, and local government units to release this allowance to frontline healthcare personnel.
