DBM defers to Congress on P28B NTF-ELCAC budget

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) will defer to Congress on the P28-billion proposed budget for the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) for 2022.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque cited the need for development projects amid the economic downturn caused by the pandemic as justification for the increased funding.

The NTF-ELCAC’s proposed budget is P11.66 billion higher than its 2021 allocation, with funds aimed at clearing more barangays and addressing hunger and job generation.
