PH bans UK, 19 more countries over new COVID strain

Filipinos returning from the UK must quarantine at New Clark City due to a new, more infectious COVID-19 strain.

President Duterte expanded the travel ban to 20 countries, including the UK, effective December 30 until January 15.

The ban covers all foreign travelers from the UK and 19 other nations with reported cases of the new coronavirus variant.

Duterte initially approved a temporary travel ban on flights from the UK and extended it for another two weeks upon recommendation by health officials.
