SC instructs Duterte's kids to comment on habeas corpus; DOJ responded

The Supreme Court has instructed former President Rodrigo Duterte's children—Veronica 'Kitty', Sebastian 'Baste', and Paolo 'Pulong' Duterte—to file comments on the government's response to their habeas corpus petitions.

In a press conference Tuesday, the high court's spokesperson Atty. Camille Ting clarified that when a court asks for a comment or response, it does not mean the petition has been granted or denied.

The DOJ submitted its response on Monday, and the Duterte siblings are required to respond within five days, which is non-extendible.

Former President Rodrigo Duterte was arrested last Tuesday following an Interpol arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity related to his war on drugs.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. clarified that the Philippine government cooperated with Interpol rather than directly with the ICC in executing Duterte's arrest.
