Duterte refuses Duque's resignation offer

President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday night refused Health Secretary Francisco Duque III's offer to resign over deficiencies in his department's handling of PHP67.32 billion for COVID-19 response.

Duterte stated that he had previously expected Duque to attempt resignation and reiterated that Duque did 'nothing wrong'.

The President emphasized that despite the findings from the Commission on Audit, he would not accept Duque’s resignation as a Cabinet member.
