Gov releases PHP76B from Bayanihan 2 for pandemic response

The national government has released PHP76.2 billion from the Bayanihan to Recover as One Act for 15 agencies to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As of October 29, the Department of Health received the largest allocation at PHP20.57 billion, followed by the Department of Labor and Employment with PHP13.1 billion and the Department of Agriculture with PHP12.03 billion.

Other recipients include the Department of Transportation (PHP9.5 billion), Department of Finance (PHP8.08 billion), and various other departments and commissions.

President Duterte reported to Congress on Tuesday that nearly P78 billion has been released for COVID-19 response, including PHP1.753 billion from the 2020 national budget.
