Palace: No lifting deployment ban on HCWs while calamity declared

Malacaŋang ruled out lifting the overseas deployment ban on healthcare workers while the country is under a state of calamity due to COVID-19.

However, President Duterte eased travel restrictions for health professionals who had contracts abroad as of August 31, benefiting over 1,500 nurses and other health workers.

Previously, only those with government-issued overseas employment certificates and verified work contracts before March 8 were exempted from the ban.
