Duter7 backs Escudero for Senate presidency

The Duterte bloc, now known as 'Duter7', has pledged support for Senate President Francis Escudero in the 10th Congress of the Philippines.

Members of Duter7 include Sens. Ronald dela Rosa, Christopher Go, Robin Padilla, Rodante Marcoleta, Imee Marcos, and siblings Mark and Camille Villar.

During a press briefing on Wednesday, Sen. dela Rosa confirmed that he had already signed a resolution supporting Escudero, though it was unclear if other members had done so.

Despite ongoing impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte, the bloc emphasized that this did not influence their decision to support Escudero.

Dela Rosa highlighted Escudero's openness and willingness to listen as key factors in his support for the Senate president.

Sen. Marcoleta is reportedly seeking the chairmanship of the Senate blue ribbon committee, which Dela Rosa believes has been promised to him.
