DSWD triples educational aid recipients in Zamboanga

The DSWD in Zamboanga Peninsula tripled the number of recipients for educational aid payouts to 1,500 students from 500 on Saturday.

DSWD-9 distributed PHP1,000 for elementary students, PHP2,000 for high school students, PHP3,000 for senior high school students, and PHP4,000 for college or vocational course students.

To prevent a repeat of the stampede that occurred during the first payout, DSWD adopted a new system requiring online registration and notification through call or text messages.
