DSWD to distribute food packs to 64K CAR families

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will distribute food packs to 64,643 families in the Cordillera Administrative Region who are affected by the enhanced community quarantine due to COVID-19.

Each pack contains six kilos of rice, four cans each of sardines and corned beef, coffee, and cereals, providing two to three days' worth of food for a family of five.

DSWD spokesperson Irene Dumlao said they would provide additional food packs and non-food aid to local government units (LGUs) upon request.

The department is coordinating with LGUs, the Philippine National Police, and the Armed Forces of the Philippines to ensure smooth distribution while mitigating virus spread.
