DSWD provides PHP53.63M aid to 111K families hit by monsoon and Crising

Humanitarian assistance worth over PHP53.63 million has been provided to families affected by the combined impacts of the southwest monsoon and Severe Tropical Storm Crising, as reported on Friday.

As of Thursday evening, aid reached 111,384 families from 62 local government units in the region, up significantly since July 17.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) contributed PHP46.31 million out of the total PHP53.63 million assistance provided by stakeholders including local government units and NGOs.

Negros Occidental received the largest amount of aid at PHP17.36 million, followed by Antique with PHP3.76 million, while Iloilo City has recorded 11,648 affected families.

The DSWD continues to monitor the situation with available resources worth PHP112.02 million for its ongoing relief operations.
