DSWD rolls out e-wallets for 4Ps beneficiaries

Beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) will receive monetary grants through e-wallets starting Friday, according to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

The move aims to assist beneficiaries in isolated and disadvantaged areas who currently face difficulties accessing traditional ATM cards.

E-wallets like G-Cash and PayMaya offer a more convenient method for these beneficiaries to access their regular cash grants without having to travel long distances to ATMs.

For 12 regions, the DSWD has already conducted Digital Financial Literacy Programs from February 24 to February 29 in partnership with financial institutions such as Landbank of the Philippines (LBP), Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) Foundation, Ayala Foundation, GCash, and PayMaya.

The programs aim to educate beneficiaries about using digital wallets and include discussions on mobile banking, budgeting, savings, and consumer protection.

With this initiative, the DSWD hopes to empower 4Ps beneficiaries to become more financially independent through cashless transactions.
