PHP112.8B allocated for Pantawid Pamilya, up PHP10.23B from last year

The government has allocated PHP112.8 billion for the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in 2024, an increase of nearly PHP10.23 billion from last year.

Department of Social Welfare and Development spokesperson Romel Lopez expressed gratitude to the Marcos administration for this higher budget allocation, which will benefit qualified beneficiaries and help them attain self-sufficiency.

As directed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., the Department of Budget and Management aims to ensure adequate support for the program under the Bagong Pilipinas initiative.

The allocation covers 4.4 million eligible households, providing them with health and rice subsidies ranging from PHP600 to PHP750 per month.

Additionally, more than 7 million students will receive monthly educational subsidies of PHP300 to PHP700.

DSWD Assistant Secretary for Strategic Communications Romel Lopez emphasized that the increased allotment signifies the government's intensified effort in supporting poor families.
