DSWD extends P9.6M aid to LPA victims

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has extended P9.6 million worth of aid to residents displaced by heavy rains and flooding due to low-pressure areas (LPAs) in January.

Approximately 54,800 families were affected across various regions, with around 2,339 individuals or 577 families still in evacuation centers in Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Soccsksargen, and Caraga.

DSWD Assistant Secretary Romel Lopez stated that aid includes family food packs and cash assistance for those with damaged homes.
