DSWD launches job fair for 4Ps graduates

On Friday, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) launched the 'Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas' job fair at Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Malate, Manila, to provide employment opportunities for over 12,000 graduating members of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

Job seekers began arriving an hour before the event opened and continued to troop to the venue until it closed at 5 p.m., with beneficiaries receiving PHP3,000 financial assistance for pre-employment requirements like medical examinations and transportation costs after undergoing an orientation on available services.

Special Assistant to President Antonio Lagdameo Jr. delivered a speech on behalf of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., congratulating the graduating 4Ps beneficiaries and emphasizing the government's commitment to providing jobs to every Filipino.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) coordinated with businesses hiring new employees, while the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) provided upskilling trainings to ensure beneficiaries had necessary skills for employment.

Beneficiaries hired on the spot may receive an additional PHP5,000 financial assistance under the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), and DOLE conducted a session on the 'Tulong Panghanapbuhig sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers' program which benefited 1,000 fire victims from Isla Puting Bato in Tondo, Manila.
