DSWD augments PHP12-M worth of relief items for Neneng-hit areas

As Typhoon Neneng hit Cagayan Valley and the Cordillera Administrative Region, DSWD Secretary Erwin Tulfo ordered field offices to remain on standby and coordinate with affected provinces.

DSWD augmented over PHP12.2 million worth of relief items including food and non-food supplies to the affected areas.

As of Wednesday, about 578 individuals were in evacuation centers while 1,111 persons temporarily stayed with relatives or friends.

The DSWD has total standby resources worth over PHP1.8 billion, comprising funds, family food packs, and other relief items.

On Oct. 17, the DSWD prepared 31,702 family food packs for distribution to affected LGUs in Ilocos, with additional non-food items and bottled water on standby.
