NDRRMC: Typhoon Neneng affects 103K in north

As of Tuesday, October 18, Typhoon Neneng (Nesat) has affected 103,662 individuals across the Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, and Cordillera Administrative Region.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported that 4,459 people were displaced with 1,865 still in evacuation centers, while two injuries but no fatalities have been recorded.

Infrastructure damages amount to P81.5 million with 33 damaged structures including nine roads and eight bridges unpassable in the affected regions.

By Monday, October 17, Neneng had impacted nearly 28,000 people, prompting preemptive evacuations of over 1,190 families and restoration efforts for electric lines and road clearing operations.

Food packs were delivered to communities and evacuation centers housing displaced individuals.
