DoTr proposes full PUV capacity in Metro Manila

The Department of Transportation (DoTr) has proposed restoring passenger capacity in public utility vehicles (PUVs) to 100% in Metro Manila, a move that transport associations say is long overdue.

Manibela National President Mar S. Valbuena noted that some PUV drivers have already been flouting the current 50% limit due to operational difficulties and passenger shortages.

Senator Imee Marcos questioned DoTr's previous lack of action on increasing passenger capacity, citing the recent spike in oil prices affecting drivers.
