Baguio and Region 1 provinces launch BLUPISIN travel bubble

Baguio City and four provinces in Region 1 have launched a travel bubble initiative called BLUPISIN to revive tourism.

The Ridge to Reef Corridor Plan aims to allow easy movement of domestic tourists between Baguio, a mountain destination, and the coastal provinces of Pangasinan, La Union, Ilocos Sur, and Ilocos Norte.

Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat praised the initiative for its advanced inter-provincial protocols and health safety measures, suggesting it could serve as a model for other regions.

The local governments involved will form a technical working group to draft strategies for facilitating tourism activities while ensuring public health.

DOT expressed support for expanding this plan across the Philippines as part of reopening domestic tourism safely.
