DOT extends leisure travel from NCR Plus to MGCQ areas until June 30

The Department of Tourism has extended leisure travel from National Capital Region Plus (NCR Plus) to tourist spots under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) until June 30.

Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat clarified that point-to-point travel is allowed without age restrictions, but those below 18 and above 65 must have a negative RT-PCR test before traveling.

Initially, the restrictions were set to end on June 15. Now, tourists from Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal can only undertake point-to-point travel to GCQ and MGCQ areas.

President Rodrigo Duterte placed Metro Manila and Bulacan under GCQ with some restrictions until June 30, while Rizal, Laguna, and Cavite will be under GCQ but with heightened restrictions.
