DOT: Boracay may soon waive COVID-19 tests for fully vaxxed tourists

The Department of Tourism (DOT) announced that Boracay Island may soon waive the requirement for fully vaccinated tourists to show negative COVID-19 test results.

Aklan Governor Florencio Miraflores stated this change could be implemented within a month, contingent on reaching 100% vaccination among tourism workers and residents.

Currently, around 91% of Boracay's tourism workers are fully vaccinated, while 62% of the island’s residents have completed their vaccinations.

Tourists from five Visayan provinces—Aklan, Capiz, Antique, Iloilo, and Guimaras—who are fully vaccinated only need to present a VaxCertPH certification for entry into Boracay.
