PH prioritizes workers over businesses in COVID-19 aid

The Philippine government's current priority is supporting displaced workers and frontliners affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, rather than providing immediate stimulus packages for businesses.

Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III stated that protecting people from the virus and addressing their needs are more important goals at this time.

Dominguez emphasized that expanding capacity to deal with the physical aspects of the crisis and providing economic liquidity is a higher priority than tax breaks or other forms of business support.
