DOLE provides emergency jobs for typhoon-hit workers

DOLE has provided emergency employment assistance to over 28,500 informal sector workers affected by recent typhoons in NCR.

The Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program aims to assist a total of 128,000 workers across the country.

In addition to emergency employment, DOLE is assessing areas affected by Super Typhoon Rolly and Typhoon Ulysses to provide livelihood assistance in coordination with local government units.

DOLE Assistant Secretary Dominique Tutay stated that around 30,000 to 40,000 workers from Regions 2, 4A, 4B, and Bicol will also benefit from the TUPAD program funded by Bayanihan 2.
