DOLE sets aside P1B for workers under Alert Level 3

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is setting aside P1 billion to assist workers affected by Alert Level 3 due to rising COVID-19 cases.

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III announced an initial allocation of PHP 50 million for the tourism industry through the CAMP program, with a potential increase to PHP 1 billion if needed.

DOLE is also preparing an emergency employment program offering temporary work for up to 200,000 displaced workers, providing them with minimum daily wages for ten days.
