DOJ files murder, detention vs Ang, Barreto, Estomo over missing sabungeros

Murder and serious illegal detention complaints have been filed against businessman Charlie 'Atong' Ang, actress Gretchen Barreto, and former National Capital Region Police Office chief retired Police General Jonnel Estomo at the Department of Justice (DOJ) in connection with the missing sabungeros case.

Ryan Bautista, brother of one of the missing sabungeros, expressed relief after four years of waiting for justice.

Criminal Investigation and Detection Group officials from the Philippine National Police were present at the DOJ during the filing.

Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla confirmed that there is a witness who testified to Ang's alleged involvement as the mastermind behind the criminal organization responsible for the abduction.

Ang, Barretto, and Estomo have denied any involvement in the disappearance of the cockfighters.
