Palace backs probe on hospitals not regularly testing health workers

The Palace supports investigating reports that health workers are not regularly tested for COVID-19.

Spokesperson Harry Roque said the DOH guidelines mandate regular testing and any violations should be reported to the DOH.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire assured that the DOH will monitor hospitals' compliance with the memorandum on regular testing of healthcare workers.

Vergeire stated that the DOH will assist hospitals in providing protection for health workers, especially those treating COVID-19 patients, by conducting tests every two weeks based on hospital resources.

If resources are insufficient, at least monthly or bi-monthly testing is required.
