DOH sends 3.8K vax doses to Zamboanga del Sur after fire

On Thursday, Nov 4, the DOH sent Zamboanga del Sur an additional 3,800 doses of COVID-19 vaccines to continue its vaccination rollout after a fire destroyed nearly 150,000 doses on October 31.

The fire damaged various vaccine types including Sinovac and AstraZeneca, impacting scheduled deployments for second doses and pediatric vaccinations.

Four government agencies—DOH, PNP, BFP, and DILG—are investigating the cause of the fire to prevent future lapses.

Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and expect more vaccine doses to be sent to Zamboanga del Sur in the coming days.
