DOH gets nCoV confirmatory test kits

On Wednesday, January 29, 2020, the DOH announced that confirmatory test kits for the novel coronavirus have arrived in the Philippines.

DOH Undersecretary Eric Domingo stated that once the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine sets up its laboratory with these kits, it will be able to conduct tests within 48 hours.

Previously, Domingo noted that using local test kits would reduce processing time by two to three days compared to sending samples to Australia.
