DOH reshuffles top officials, appoints new undersecretary

Three career executive service officers (CESOs) from the Department of Health (DOH), including Undersecretary Dr. Maria Rosario Singh-Vergeire, have stepped down from their positions as of Tuesday.

Undersecretaries Achilles Gerard Bravo and Dr. Kenneth also left their posts along with Dr. Singh-Vergeire.

DOH Secretary Ted Herbosa confirmed their departures but did not provide specific reasons for the moves.

Assistant Secretary Albert Domingo stated that decisions regarding Execom members' separations from service, such as retirement or resignation, are treated with privacy and respect.

Dr. Gregorio Murillo Jr., former mayor of Tago, Surigao del Sur, was appointed as the new undersecretary for health facilities enhancement and infrastructure management.

Assistant Secretary Farwa Hombre, a nurse by profession, was promoted to handle concerns on the nursing profession, gender and development, and traditional and alternative healthcare.
