DOH urges public understanding of health workers' vaccination errors

The Department of Health (DOH) is addressing videos circulating on social media showing improper administration of COVID-19 vaccines by healthcare workers.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire urged the public to be understanding towards health workers who may have made mistakes due to exhaustion and human error.

Vergeire stated that the DOH continues to monitor reports of improperly administered doses and has advised vaccination sites and healthcare workers to remain vigilant in following protocols.

The viral video from Makati showed a nurse forgetting to inject the vaccine after inserting the needle, which was reported as an isolated incident by National Task Force (NTF) Against Covid-19 Deputy Chief Vince Dizon.
