DOH denies VIP treatment in coronavirus testing

The Department of Health (DOH) denied allegations of VIP treatment in coronavirus testing on Monday, March 23.

The DOH stated there is no policy for prioritizing government officials and all specimens are processed on a first-in, first-out basis with courtesy given to those holding positions related to national security and public health.

Criticism arose after reports suggested that some government officials were being tested even without symptoms while symptomatic patients waited due to limited test kits.
