DOH logs 51,622 dengue cases, up 58% from last year

The Philippines has recorded 51,622 dengue cases from January to June 18, 2022, a 58% increase compared to the same period last year.

Central Luzon, Central Visayas, and Zamboanga Peninsula reported the highest number of cases at 13%, 12%, and 9% respectively.

From May 8 to June 18, around 13,075 new cases were recorded with significant numbers from Central Luzon, Central Visayas, and CAR.

The DOH noted that Mimaropa, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Davao Region, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), and CAR showed an increasing trend of cases recently.

Fifteen out of 17 regions have exceeded their epidemic threshold over the past four weeks.
