DOH: Dengue cases up 90% this year

The Philippines recorded 64,797 dengue cases from January to June 25, a 90% increase compared to the same period last year.

Central Luzon reported the highest number of cases with 9,426 or 15%, followed by Central Visayas with 12% and Zamboanga Peninsula with 9%.

From May 29 to June 25 alone, there were 21,115 new dengue cases.

The DOH reported a total of 274 deaths due to dengue this year, resulting in a case fatality rate of 0.4%.
