DOH logs 2,812 new COVID-19 cases

On Saturday, September 3, the Department of Health (DOH) recorded 2,812 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of active cases to 23,571.

The national caseload increased to 3,889,160 with a death toll of 61,962 and recovery tally of 3,803,627.

Active cases dropped slightly from the previous day's count of 23,703. The National Capital Region had the highest number of cases in the past two weeks, followed by Calabarzon, Central Luzon, Western Visayas, and Davao Region.

The positivity rate remained above WHO’s benchmark at 13.8%, while bed occupancy rates were relatively low with 27.4% for non-ICU beds and 24.82% for ICU beds.
