DOH logs 17,145 new COVID-19 cases, 10% drop from previous week

The Department of Health (DOH) reported 17,145 new COVID-19 cases from August 29 to September 4, marking a 10% decrease compared to the previous week.

Despite this decline, there was an increase in non-ICU bed utilization rate from 28.1% to 29.3%, while ICU bed utilization decreased slightly from 24.9% to 23.5%.

The DOH also recorded 354 additional deaths, mostly backlogs from previous months with only one death occurring in September and 145 in August.
